After the captain sounds the ship's air horn, the first of four bridges replies with its own horn and begins to rise. The IROQUOIS then begins making its way downbound on the Milwaukee River towards the Historic Third Ward. The River is lined with both 19th century landmarks and modern commercial and residential developments.
Further down the River, over the starboard side of the IROQUOIS, you'll next see the Allen-Bradley Clock, the world's largest four-sided clock. At the mouth of the River the Hoan Memorial Bridge soars overhead marking the entrance to Milwaukee's outer harbor.
In the harbor, your likely to see huge ocean-going ships and "lakers" docked at the port of Milwaukee. Once across the harbor, the IROQUOIS sails past the Breakwater Lighthouse, which marks the main harbor entrance from Lake Michigan. We next turn north and sail along the breakwater towards McKinley Marina.
